Although I could have been there, I had to make my way back North before the meeting got under way. I did, however, have a chance to have lunch with Lindsey and Rosa.
It was most enlightening and something that, out of respect to the Ashby's, I won't go into.
I can understand the lamentation of the railfan community over the cavalier treatment of people who have served the public so faithfully for over 30 years (remember, Central City was started in 1968). I wholeheartedly agree.
Anyone who has the slightest passing knowledge of Railroad operations knows that the CHS is talking through their... err... hats. Even Strasburg has said 2 years and over $1 mil. for the 9 (Nothing is unrestorable, no matter how many new parts it takes).
I will conclude with the statement that the Ashbys were not blind sided when this renewal dispute came up.
