In the period of 1956-57...I was a young Navy pilot flying out of NAS Barbers Point (Ewa) and took a couple of days of leave, to go down and shoot phots of the Oahu Land company roundhouse and yards. Never saw a security guard. Climbed inside the 2-8-2,..a Hawaiian K-28.. #60 (I think)...shot the entire RH with an 0-6-0 inside and two diesels. I am sure they are the ones in Colorado now, which might make them the earliest photos of these diesels. The yards were abandoned with tons of box cars and the business cars there. Switch points in many places had been removed as well as switch stands. IT was erie.....like spooky.
When my big photo lab is completed, my first project will be to make prints in B&W from the old negatives which are in great condition and I will get them posted for you all. Be well, "Bo"
