Thanks, youse guys -
Lumberton it is! IIRC, I've only been through Lumberton twice, long after the RR was gone and much longer after the RR was gone, so please forgive my uncertainly above. SFAIK, Tom Gildersleeve was also relatively unfamiliar with the
Rio Grande between Chama and Durango; there are no captions with the copies of his photos that he gave me, and I don't recall whether the narration on his slide-show DVD identifies the locations or not. In any event, since there is apparently a dearth of photos of D&RGW #491 on the NGDF here are five of the six photos taken on 03/16/63 prior to the one I posted above
; the third one of them is a going-away shot, so I'll save it to post on Scott's thread the next time a "bump" is needed.

Is this coming or going? (Note the crowd in the background watching the action!)

The next four shots in the set show the train headed west at Arboles, Allison and beyond, followed by a going-away shot as it enters what looks to me like Ignacio that – like the "entering Monero" shot mentioned above – I'll save 'til it's needed to bump the going-away thread
