Thanks for clarifying the identity of the Costa Rican locomotives. They are both FE&P locomotives.
To date, I have 860 steam locomotives listed in Central and South America. As you described, they ran the guantlet from modernized Japanese-built 2-10-2 steam locomotives to Baldwin-built 2-6-6-2s, to tiny tank engines. All of the worlds surviving Kitson-Meyer articulated steam locomotives (referred to as "steam do-do birds" by Colin Garratt) are in South America as well.
There may be hundreds of steam locomotives that I have not included to date.
