Neither of the engines in Costa Rica are ex-IRCA. The two major railroads in Costa Rica are/were 3'6" gauge. Somewhere back in prehistory (around 1970 maybe) I recall that one of the banana companies in Costa Rica still had one operable 3'6" mike that was used occasionally. Note the the 3'6" Ferrocarril al Pacifico was an electrified line.
In the 1970's there were steam engines scattered all over Central America, some running, some not. Small tank engines, shays, lord knows what. I'm not certain what has been published more recently, but the two-part article by Frank Barry in the April and May 1964 issues of Trains remains about the most complete listing of at least what used to be there, including a pretty good map, and some great pictures (including a nice action shot of the ex-UR, ex-SV 2-6-6-2 on the IRCA).
