I first met the Norcross family in 1999. Work session C at Osier. I was treated like a member of the family starting day 1, and Ted and Nancy treated all of us in his crew the same. I brought camping rations to eat, but Nancy offered home cooked meals. Ted shared his knowledge of construction and woodworking with anyone in his crew. He was a very kind and generous person. Ted and Nancy treated me very well and made me comfortable during the time I camped at Sublette Heights. The evening campfires were something I looked forward to. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of Ted’s team, and to have been included in the Norcross family even if was for one week a year. I was so honored when Ted gave me my Square Nail badge. I believe this was the second year at Osier. I remember Bill Kepler and Jeff Stebbins visiting the evening campfires. The stories told at those campfires were rich in narrow gauge history.
