Just to put your concerns to rest JB, the fireman kept the boiler pressure below the pop-off point, the safety valves didn't relieve, and the crew enjoyed their well cooked pre-Thanksgiving dinner in good time. Since the space in the steam domes, even on a double header, is fairly limited, TUT arranged a single-engine train from El Maiten to Lepa the next day. In Lepa the railroad crew set up a
pretty fancy barbecue with all the trimmings, and lots of wine for those not intending to hang out in the cab on the return trip. For me, of course, opting for the cab was not a difficult choice. Besides, being under the influence and falling out of a rocking cab at speed could have most unpleasant consequences).
