Greg, after seeing your portrait wearing maroon corduroy pants, I got out a photo with 399 04 and me, on the left, at about the same time frame - late May 1974. No flashy maroon corduroy pants, but looking like a vacationing chemical engineer might typically dress like when traveling first class on a Eurail Pass.

I really like your photo of the 52-class hauling freight on a misty day. It is kind of hard to visualize that the engine you photographed is one of 6,719 52-class Kriegsloks built. The Czech 4-8-2 photos are excellent too.

Here are a couple of photos of 399 01 by Peter Schricker whom I met on a O1-class 4-6-2 run from Regensburg to Hof, and which led to years of exchanging B&W prints. Photos taken near Litschau on October 20, 1972.
