Gerald M. Best wrote that NCNG 9 was cut up for scrap in 1946. If this is true, the trail grows cold, but if not, there is some hope. The Lynton and Barnstaple of England hopes to find and recover two locomotives from Brazil. Also, the Sumpter Valley Railway is searching for their ten wheeler #50 in South America. There is hope. I would like to agree with the poster that mentioned the fact that there are very limited crude oil supplies in Africa. This is one reason that Beyer-Garrets survived in service into the mid 90's. One place to check would be with Navy requisition and disposal records that have to exist somewhere. Best of luck to NCNG fans!
