The rail system in the PI was devasted after 1945 and I believe that #9 went there (the Philippines) as an 0-8-0. The rest of Asia was meter gauge standard, or non-3'. The only logical place, from Hawaii, would have been to China (standard and 2' gauges), North Asia (standard and meter gauges), or S/E Asia (meter gauge and whatever the Dutch built in Indonesia). The US owned the PI then so #9 must of went to the Philippines. Have any of our fellow Japanese rail-buffs found anything in the PI that comes close to our #9, as an 0-8-0? I prey she was not scrapped and will be discovered and brought home to the new and growing NCNGRR. If not, are there plans for that locomotive somewhere?
