Intermediate service stops on the 275 mile run provide a chance to water and lube the engines, and to barbecue the crew's mutton lunches on the top of the steam domes
Here the fireman is preparing to stuff a pack of mutton into the open top of the dome cover and on to the hot top of the steam dome. I may have to do another thread on the fine points of steam dome cuisine when I find the appropriate scenes.
