I agree with Kelly.

During the early years of the D&S and the beginning of winter operations, we had several trips where the locomotives on snow clearing trains attempted to buck through various slides (with rocks/trees) and deep snow. I remember one instance, when I was the swing shift mechanic, the 481 returned with the plow bent slightly upward and cocked to one side, plow braces bents, flanger blades trashed, headlight lens cracked and the vertical hand holds on the cab bent. Plowing snow is very hard on the equipment.

Unfortunately at this time, we had fewer options, but the DSNG CAT (B-1) would have been a better choice.
