The D&RGW and RGS kept their snow fighting equipment in pretty good shape. I have copies of RGS shop notes that tell the crews in the fall to get the plows ready for service.

The plows did take a beating. This photo was taken in 1949 in the Black Canyon west of Sapinero and shows the impact of 09271 on a drift.
