Years ago at the beginning of the season, C&TS ran the engine from Antonito up the line to plow out some aged drifts (i.e. ice). Someone chased the run and posted it (perhaps on the Goat?). They should have used a dozer. I remember being annoyed at the punishment that pilot plow took. I was in considerably worse shape at the end of the day compared to the beginning, you could see every brace and support that was behind the face of the plow standing proud while the areas in between were noticeably caved in. That treatment is awfully hard on the locomotive as well.
