Well put! There really isn't much else to say! One thing I would be interested in hearing however, is the reasoning behind the Colorado Historical Society's seemingly incomprehensible decision to go with another operator (if possible!) I would be curious to hear about the demands that the CHS put to the Ashby group; not so much what the demands were as that has been posted elsewhere but their reasons for them (other than pure unadulterated greed! But I digresss....)
I have yet to hear ONE cogent argument for the CHS's position. IS there one? PLEASE, post it so we can understand their position and not just turn this into a total b*tch session!
There HAS to be SOME reason or else how could the whole CHS have a collective brain f*rt??!! I'm through complaining as my opinion has already been thoroughly stated and any more posts would be redundant.
I do have one suggestion however: Write a letter to the editor of the Denver Post explaining the situation and ask the CHS for an explanation why they would embark on a course that can only insure the demise of one of Colorado's major historical tourist attractions; one that is integral to the economy of the entire region!
The only way to make the government accountable is to bring their decisions to the court of public opinion. The people of Colorado need to know and to understand the situation so that pubic pressure can be brought to bear on the CHS leadership. It's still not too late to avert a catastrophy!
