I've been sick about the neglect that C&S #9 has been subjected to for all these decades!! It seems clear that the CHS is loaded at the top with hotty totty, nose permanantly stuck up in the air, head permanantly stuck up the *ss, don't try and confuse me with facts, brain-dead socialites!! How did these people get to these positions of responsibility??!! It sure wasn't by merit!!!
So now these "einsteins" have, in their collective wisdom, decided that, "Gee, we have such a good thing going, why not improve on it? After all, if the Ashby's can do it and make it profitable it can't be that hard!"
Adding injury to insult, they decide to "find another operator; one that would be willing to agree to all of their "ideas" (read: demands) and run the railroad "their" way. (Does anybody else think this is starting to resemble a Dilbert cartoon?)
The people in charge at the CHS aren't interested in working things out. Not yet. They are now backed into a corner where their pride will keep them from admiting that this idea of their's was ill-conceived and foolish in the extreme from the get-go! They'll let the Ashby's go even if they don't have an operator for next year rather than admit they were WRONG! (Mark my words! I know this type of personality! They'll let the GLR go belly-up and blame everything but themselves! GEEZ!!! I'm REALLY getting "ticked" just thinking about these people!!!
It's going to take some outside pressure from the State or the CHS will kill the GLR rather than admit they were wrong. I really hope I'm wrong but I've seen too many of these types of people to be optimistic.
