Yeah about the stress on track. I imagine that any outside framed locomotive can be real hard on track if it's really out of time or out of quarter or something like that. But I think the K-36's and the K-28's and the mudhen's can be pretty nice on track most of the time. They sure do have alot of travel thoough. The best shot i've seen that really shows that, I don't know why this one comes to mind, but it's in the Mark 1 Video tape that they did of the '93 run of OY. It's when they did a run with 488 of 3 drop bottom gons of coal to Cumbres.
Theres a shot taken when they come out of the narrows and swing around the big fill there and you can really see how little clearance there is on those things. Alot of tourqe!
Would you guys say that 470's have the most clearance out of all of the Rio Grande Narrow Gauge K's?
