NEW RAILROAD STATION ALMOST READY FOR USE
Rio Grande expects to move into new quarters by the 15th.
Down at the new D&RGW depot at the foot of Main Street, workmen are busy adding the finishing touches and soon the building will be ready for occupancy. On the inside all is ready, but the finishing coal of plaster and electrical jobs. Conduits are ready and fixtures need to be added and this part of the work will be complete.
Yesterday the outside stuccoing was started and this will be complete in a few more days. Cold weather has hampered the work slightly, but it has progressed wonderfully in spite of this.
A heating plant has been installed in the basement and is functioning now. It is a steam system with all the modern improvements. The loading platform at the west end of the building is nearly finished and it will be but a short time until they are handling freight at the new location. The depot is to be finished by the 10th of the month and will be occupied by the 15th.
