While my brother's wedding was on the diesel hauled "Spirit of Washington" dinner train, that train was hauled by steam on a number of occasions.
Here Spokane, Portland & Seattle 4-8-4 700 is steaming from Portland to Pasco/Kennewick with an extra water tender, baggage/tool car and passenger car on October 17, 1990. As part of the multi day steam festivities on Washington Central, the engine will haul the Kennewick-Prosser dinner train.
In the below photo by Nils Huxtable, SP&S 700 is about to exit Badger Canyon at Kiona and follow the Yakima River for the next 10 or so miles to the Hogue Winery at Prosser
When it comes to 4-8-4s, I think 700 is the handsomest of all.
