Hi Dan, I'm Rey Castillo and one of the more younger comers-on with the Emma Nevada project.
I'm really ecstatic with you eager to see Glenbrook, Eureka, and Emma in one big triple header, and I hear your offerings about how to do the Emma's boiler work. Unfortunately, due to both the recent circumstances and also financial circumstances, we only have about two people working on her right now (myself and Mike Wissler) and we're still quite aways with getting her frames prepped for her drivers. The current issue right now is manpower, finances secondary, as a lot of the more involved members have sadly passed away or have not been seen in a long time. Being 25 this year, I'd love to see the Emma running in no time, which is why I spent some time at Amherst Train Show this year trying to get donations for the project. I hope to come back next year with a more robust display because you and I both wanna see Ward's "Circus Nightmare" up and running.
If I can, I'll offer one of the project leads (Ken Mitchroney) to inspect the boiler while it's still up on blocks. We already looked through the firebox and identified stubborn/problematic pinholes and patches, but the more we can get done on it, the better.
Hope your day is going well, and I wish you, your family, and your locomotive all the best possible health.
