On a second 1472 SDI, if the first one was done correctly, there is no need to redo the calculations, all that is needed is to compare the current boiler thicknesses to the minimum allowed thickness that were calculated and entered into the first Form 4 (no need to reinvent the wheel). That allows a cost savings for a second 1472 SDI compared to the first one.

That is my recollection as well. IIRC, for FRA service, one or more of the driving axles would need to be replaced due to being turned down below the FRA limit, and we were concerned with the condition of the main rods, side rods, shoes & wedges, etc. if subjected to continuous full power operation as would be required on the C&TS or D&S. Due to additional cost of the repairs needed, it was decided to limit the repairs to what could be done to provide reliable operation in limited service at CRRM.
If funding and inclination to perform the work happens at CRRM, preparing #346 for FRA service would be a fairly straight forward process.
