Iron, not so much a problem (the house I grew up in had red tap water from time to time, builds strong bones) some of the other stuff, big problems.
Once upon a time there was a Federal program of low-cost loans & grants for small towns to improve their water & septic plants. ISTR Gunnison getting money this way when I lived there in the early 1980's and around the time I moved here (1986) Cheney barely got in under the wire to get funds to improve & expand their sewer plant. I won't make any political comment as to why the program went away except that I still consider it a "Penny Wise, Pound Foolish" decision.
