Fantastic pictures my friend. Probably my favorite is you leaning into her a bit with the throttle wide open, snow falling on the ground, and the reverser just off center. That's how it's done folks!
BTW, the Reading & Northern #425 guys have told me that they throttle off on her going through Tamaqua Tunnel for the exact reason you demonstrated: falling rocks. One of the guys told me one time a rock fell from the roof of the tunnel and managed to hit the cut off valve for the fireman's side injector check valve while it was operating. A couple minutes go by....*no additional water change in the glass*....*no additional water change in the glass*
It was not until Jim Thorpe did they realize what had happened...thank god for that engineer's side injector!
