I wondered that myself George. I’m guessing there was a flat rate for the mileage, and then the 2 hrs “overtime” relates exactly to the switching work. Perhaps just to denote two different pay rates? But that’s just a guess - I’m sure someone out there will know exactly.

I just liked this paper because it was specific to 227. If I was a modeller, which I’m not, I’d probably specifically model that engine, with the paper and this photo framed above the layout. Scroll down to RD093-162. [www.cumbrestoltec.org]
