This is not about the Cinders and Smoke question but about something that is in the Ticket to Toltec rather.
We are working on making a detailed map of Cumbres to start a "yard Tour" type brochure for that location. We have looked at many maps and talked to "experts" about the old Tole Road. We have also examined all the remaining evidence at the site and have gotten several ideas of exactly where the road crossed the pass. I know that you show the road crossing the upper neck of tangle foot curve parallel to the present highway and then it seems to circle behind and follow the old Rt 17 alignment and under the trestle before going down the south face to wolf creek. Do you have any sources you used to determine that track for the road. There seems to be some signs of a track like that but we were assured by the expert that it went over the hill to the north or just behind the water cistern. We hate to print something and then find out it is in error.
