Returning to Chama, the 493 caboose hop is passing the Cresco tank and trestle
In Chama 493 returned to the Skyline mill where four more flat cars had been loaded. After pulling the loads, 493 spotted more empties at the mill before returning to the yard and adding the load left in the morning to the consist for the next run up the hill. Ernie's photo. Escorting my non-railfan brother, we had to join the crew for lunch at Kelly's bar rather than spending more freezing time at the mill.
After lunch, which no doubt included the best ever sopaipillas at Kelly's bar, it was time to head back to the yard and watch 493 leaving with a smaller train of only 5 loads
493 was moving right along the dirt road section in the narrows that is now covered by 20 ft of fill for the new road
Engineer Lira is at the throttle of 493 as the train passes thru the narrows
