Actually the 499's original and only tender resides behind 491 in Golden at the CRRM. The current tender behind 499 was originally 494's and when it was retired it went to 498 which was tenderless after its tender was scrapped after a wreck near Cumbres with 497. There is a long story I've commented on before about the movement of tenders among the K-37's which can be looked up. If not when I get more time I'll recite it!
