is only incidentally related to the railroad. It is a place where sun and shadows interact with the "phantoms" to create magical images of the American West. And at night the headlights take the place of the sun. If you get a train in the picture so much the better. But it is a challenging location where the definitive image is yet to be taken, which is part of the attraction since it is hard to say the same thing about almost any other location on the C&TS. But that is only because it is probably the most challenging location....isolated, the trains rarely get there when the light is good, tight quarters, a treacherous slope, and short windows of opportunity for the right light. One of my dreams is to charter a train and do nothing but try to get that classic phantom curve shot. Which I need to do soon because I'm getting really old!
