This was not at the Gorge proper but at Buckskin Joe's near the Gorge. It was the only steam locomotive the Royal Gorge Scenic had. Mrs. Tiner said the engine was a water hog, using 15 gallons per 2 1/2 mile trip. The railroad had several gasoline powered engines modelled after F units. These engine were more want the Tiner's wanted.
The steam engine went to Daney's shop in Pueblo where it was extensively rebuilt.
The Royal Gorge Scenic recently closed and the right-of-way turned into a trail.
The Royal Gorge proper also had a 15-inch gauge steam engine, which was stuffed and mounted last time I was there many years ago.
