I think you must be right Nick. Big Thanks. The SRR was being run by a contractor and would have to rent an engine and the only D&RGW outside frame engines were the mudhens which I would thing would not be used to Red Mountain as too heavy. Were the three 2-8-0s from the CRRR on D&RG yet? The #360 was rented to the New Mexico Lumber Co. and made it to McPhee but was rejected as too heavy. It double headed on a freight Ridgway to Rico but because it was even restricted on the RGS south of Rico, it was run light dead-head to McPhee. It went away as a dead-head move also. That was too late to be sent over to Silverton as Red Mountain was done. Oh Hell was just confused of who the rental was with. The SNRR rented the #34 after they bought the SG&Northerly.

It is still interesting to know that SG&N #34 may have been photographed at Red Mountain and maybe we will see it when everyone scans the old photos they may have.

Even photos of that Baldwin engine on the White Pass are rare to find.
