I love the Mears Silverton lines and am always trying to learn more about them!

The Frisco-Bagley Mill and Tunnel nomination form for the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties contains tons of information about the complex and surrounding area. If you look at page 8 it states that ROW was graded from Animas Forks to the mill but there is no evidence rails were ever laid. This form was compiled in 2005 and it does list The Rainbow Route as a source so that may be where the information comes from.
