Re: Neat photo of Hecla Junction

A couple more things. I located the photographs of the construction at MP 224, including Bridge 224A area. There are 4, all taken at the same time and same place. The first one that I posted already shows the fill being built out into the river and straightening the line, while the three below show new bridge 224A, old bridge 224A and a steam shovel at work excavating a cut (which is there today) to straighten the line further going north. If the bridge in these photos is the same bridge that is in the Hecla Jct. photo, then the ties in the first photo are what is left of Hecla Jct. in 1922. If you compare the rock faces on the curve in both the old and later photos, it certainly is a distinct possibility. Certainly this amount of construction makes the place hard to recognize today.
