That's what I suspected. I think the junction in the photograph is in the circle, but I see no sign of a roadbed diverging northeast from there. There does seem to be one at the arrow, diverging southeast instead of northeast. In the square is what may be a curved embankment going the proper direction to match the DPL photo.
I wonder if the track straightening disrupted the original junction so it was moved north and rerouted to the position marked by the arrow. Or was it a wye junction?
