Re: SVRy turntable

According to the valuation report bridge 12a was about 12 mile out which would put it at Lockhart. There are several bridges listed at or near Lockhart, and as that area is pretty much obliterated by the hwy, I am not sure where this actually was. Smitty mentioned that there are the stubs of bridge piles directly under the hwy bridge that is near his house, which is near Lockhart. My understanding is that the turntable was returned to S.Baker after the line was pulled to be used as a bridge in the mill yard. The valuation report has the brand and # of the turntable, though I can't read the first name. It looks like "Cofrede? & Taylor" #210.
One question leads to another. The steel girder bridge still existing in S.Baker that is being used a private road bridge appears to have been the bridge on the tailtrack of a wye and also lead to the are across the river where at one time I think there was a mill. Someone said SVRy may have had another acess to the std. ga. mainline out that way. In the 1916 valuation there is a bridge listed a #1, but is a frame trestle type at that point. Anyone know the history of the steel bridge now in place? I have understood the turntable bridge is down stream from this, but I have never been to it?
