My Step Dad was a fireman on the Northern Pacific out of Dickinson, ND. He said they over nighted in Glendive and the bunkhouses were pretty rough and freezing cold. He made a deal with a woman in town for him and some other guys who were never in town on the same night. A warm room and breakfast. He always said that is how he became interested in the Hotel business which is what he turned into a career.
