I often get weird looks in conversations about modern conveniences when I say that the most important ones to me are electric lights & indoor plumbing. Funny thing is, so does my daughter (age 31). Most people seem to think of I-phones & such.
I should note: I've only rarely lived without 'em(a few months when I was 19) - but I listened closely to my elders & observed some neighbors as a child.
