Brian,
You have mentioned this to me before, I left those listings up is because my website is called RumorWeb for a reason, I am trying to investigate these rumors of engines up in the woods, or sunk in the river. The site always changes depending on new information that has come to light. Those listings are up there in hopes of finding more information.
But what I had meant by engines out in the woods that hunters have found etc.. No one expects them to be steamed up and ready to go. An example (rather suprising at that) is the Locomotive in the California listings in the Kennedy Meadows Resevoir. I had no real evidence that it existed, it was just mentioned to me one day that someone heard it. Well last week I recieved an email from a man who has photographs of the engine and some other railroad rolling stock that was left around. I will have pictures up shortly.
The point I was trying to make is, there is always a GOOD chance that what someone says they saw up there could be true.. Sometimes not, but as I have found in my research so far it is starting to look that way.
My database is more than just some stale listing, like the Barris site sometimes appears to be. It is there for a reason, to help keep track of what is out there in hopes that what is left can be saved.
