Steven, I am searching for more details on how wood got from the mills to the tenders in S.Baker in the 1910-1920 time frame when they must have been fueling several locomotives per day. The picture of the OLC mill in Ferrell's book(p.13)shows an empty flat car parked at what must be the shute from the slab conveyor. It would seem plausible that flats were loaded at the mill and then switched to a site where locomotives were fueled. Would any of the yard maps you were talking about help explain how the transfers were done? Were the slabs always unloaded onto ground piles or could they have been loaded into tenders straight from the flats? If any of the maps are helpful I would like to know if it is possible to get copies of them. The train simulator looks great. I will definetly want to get it up and running when it is available.
