I don’t quite understand the animosity I have seen on the NGDF towards diesels. Is there a rule you can’t like both steam and internal combustion railroading? I see a practical use for both on The Como Project. While extending the track it would be nice to have a little diesel (or gas) powered GE or Plymouth to push the flat car loaded with rails and ties to end of track. And as additional rolling stock is acquired it would nice to have that same critter move the cars around. Steaming up Klondike Kate for these tasks doesn’t seem all that practical. So am I missing something?
