It's interesting that the fancy
'Overland Flyer' lettering appears on the tender of "Union Pacific #473" in the B&W photo taken at Durango (above), but had been painted out (with some 'Moffat Green Boiler Jacket Enamel'?) by the time "Union Pacific #478" got to Chama on her way to Alamosa for servicing a few days later.
