The first photo, in the root post of this thread, shows D&RGW #47
8 lettered as 'Union Pacific' #47
3, early on in her co-starring role in
'Botch Casually and the Somedunce Kid'. Partway through the shooting (no pun intended), #47
3 was re-painted as U.P. #47
8, probably just to let discerning members of the audience know that the Union Pacific was an important enough railroad to have more than one locomotive. Why the numbers were swapped when the locos were "sold" to the U.P. by the D&RGW is anybody's guess. When #47
3 arrived in Chama after her part(s) in the movie were 'in the can', she was still lettered for the U.P. and numbered as 47
8 when Ernie took a few photos of her on the evening of October 9. In the latter case it's D&RGW #47
3 under the less hideous (compared to #483) Hollyweird movie make-up.
