Ha! That's because they're all stuck in narrow gauge land and I'm the outsider posting standard gauge stuff because frankly there isn't much narrow gauge railroading near me.
The cab ride was pretty fun, not the most spectacular one I've been on, but it was nice to ride along and enjoy the scenery. Interestingly, the bell got stuck coming out of Grand Junction and Engineer Chris had to step out and reset it after stopping. We got going and he really had her barking pretty good for a minute or so. I did like the missionary ridge tunnel and seeing the cab illuminated by just the backhead lamps and firebox. I was also happy to see the 630 running because she works a little bit more even with a shorter train than would the 4501 obviously. Fun time all around....I definitely plan on chasing a Summerville trip sometime soon. Got any good spots?
