Stathi, are you aware of the problem that Russ Hanscom's crew had with their passenger car axles? They built these beautiful, intricate composite trucks intending to put freight car wheelsets in them, only to find out the the axles were 1.5 inches short. We had to have 12 new axles cut in Farmington. I'm sure you were in on that, I just didn't want you to find out the way we did.
What I heard elsewhere was that D&S had the same problem (on replacement axles for their passenger cars), and saved a buncha cash by acquiring standard gauge used axles, and having them cut to spec.
Just thought I should mention it.
