Thanks Chris. I doubt the Grande had the nifty features on their engines. I'm not sure the K27's even had straight air valves in the cab, and they ran like Sierra 3 did by making automatic sets to slow the locomotive. The only pic I have ever seen of the inside of a K27 cab, does not show a straight air valve.

Another thought is the "dump valve" on the side of 453's tender is too small to be an emergency brake line.
