Jeff, I'm glad you don't lump us in with the "Park" railroads. Yes, we are operated by Genesee County Parkas and Recreation Commission, but we are far from your typical park railroad. In fact, when Jim Boyd first visited, after riding 3/4 of the way around, he turned to me and said "This is a real railroad!" We have a mainline 4.3 miles long, with 3 1/2 miles on an old Pere Marquette right of way. What's really nice is that we have a reverse loop at both ends, so we're always headed where we're going! In fact, this line was originally incorporated as a seperate company, the Flint River RR. I think that might have been a better name for the current operation, but we have been the Huckleberry RR for 27 years now, so I tell my guys, "Let's make Huckleberry a name to be proud of!
