Just because I insist that the GG&BG Hollyweird makeup on the Scarlet Harlot IS histœrically correct DOESN'T mean it's my favorite – I like the original DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN (with tri-color herald) a LOT better, and also the CUMBRES & TOLTEC SCENIC RR (with t-c herald). I was there just a couple of weeks after you – over Labor Day Weekend in 1971 – and by that time the ugly make-up was gone, although #483's tender hadn't yet been re-lettered

IIRC, #484 handled C&TS' first few revenue trips, and this was #483's first or second run after a week or two in the shop for maintenance and – thankfully – a paint job.
