Leadville was a fantasic location. It is too bad the narrow gauge (both D&RGW and C&S didn't last longer). Lots of interchange between the D&RG and C&S narrow gauge, sharing of facilities and track. Where else could you have two or three standard gauge rotary plows and two narrow gauge rotary plows from three different railroads all in the same town on the same day? It happened in 1899 in Leadville. And remember our discussion of dual gauge crossings, there were a number of them in Leadville...D&RG dual gauge crossing C&S dual gauge. Must have been a nightmare to maintain.
