Was just all over that area last week while doing my fourth trip to the D&RGW's Ibex branch. I have also read all the newspapers from that area. Too bad more photos were not taken, would have been interesting to see more photos of the D&RGW and C&S interchange at Leadville. A retired D&RGW agent told me of billing C&S narrow gauge gons filled with anthracite coal from Crested Butte to Kokomo in the early 20s. D&RGW switch engines at Leadville were equipped with dual gauge couplers and regularly switched C&S ng cars to the smelter until 36 or 37 according to what I have found.
The D&RGW Ibex branch was standard gauged in 1917, but I have found a few spurs that still have narrow gauge ties in the ground.
