I believe we have footage on this line shot on a big excursion around 1952. Been a long time since I edited the show "SP Steam Fantrips" I believe it was 2 cab forwards from Sacramento to Alturas, then a 2-8-0 on the branch line, and eventually to the Shasta Route and a GS 4-8-4 back to Sacramento. What a trip that was!!! We had a flyer from the guy who shot the film and the 4-5 day trip was around $50-60.00!!! There was a photo runby at one of those long sweeping curves with the pair of Cab Forwards leading. Being a more mid-western fan I never knew most of this until I would get film footage and then learn more about these areas.
