Thanks for your note at The Lily. We certainly have many interests in common.
I was born and raised in San Francisco, and lived most of my life in the Bay Area. (Lafayette, Palo Alto, Los Gatos) I sailed on the bay for years, on one little sailboat berthed at the Metropolitan Yacht Club on the estuary, and then a nice boat we kept at the marina near Fort Mason. Later, I lived on a Grand Banks Trawler in the San Francisco Marina. Of course, I have explored the maritime museum and historic ships - many times.
Perhaps we can meet during the narrow gauge convention in 2004. I trust that a meal at Scoma's would be acceptable?
